Glutathione is a fragile tripeptide. Swallowed as a standard tablet, it’s broken apart by gut proteases and stomach acid before it can be absorbed — which is why, in our head-to-head trial, the tablet group showed no meaningful rise in plasma glutathione across seven days. The molecule works. The delivery is what fails.
Reduced L-glutathione is sealed inside a sunflower-derived phosphatidylcholine bilayer — soy-free, and built to mimic your own cell membranes.
That bilayer shields the tripeptide from the stomach acid and proteases that dismantle ordinary GSH tablets before absorption.
Twenty metabolically healthy adults, randomized evenly, 500 mg glutathione daily for seven days. Plasma measured by LC/MS-MS at day 0, 3, and 7.
Both groups started level. Only the liposomal group climbed.
